A rich and preserved nature<\/h2><\/div>\n\n

The territory contains exceptional natural environments labelled Sensitive Natural Areas<\/strong> at the level of the Ain department. The Maison de l’Eau et de la Nature<\/g> (www.maison-eau-nature.com)<\/g> and the Conservatoire d’espaces naturels organise activities for schoolchildren and the general public. They offer you the opportunity to discover them independently by means of the panels on each site. <\/p>\n\n

The peat moor of onions in Boz<\/h3><\/div>\n\n

A peat moor in the Val de Sa\u00f4ne! It is similar to an acid peat bog, an original environment in the region and at this altitude of 200 meters. Amphibians, dragonflies, heritage flora, wet meadows, marshes, this singular place is not lacking in assets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They offer an amazing landscape far from the sea, shaped by floods and winds. Open environments rub shoulders with wooded areas and some wetlands are present. The mosaic of natural habitats leads to the development of a diversity of exceptional species. A pedestrian loop of about 1km500 allows you to visit this atypical site and discover its riches thanks to a marking of signs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The great meadow of the Val de Sa\u00f4ne<\/h3><\/div>\n\n

The territory is divided between the immense meadow of the Sa\u00f4ne valley and the Bressan bocage. To the west, the rich meadow, a floodplain of the Sa\u00f4ne, is made up of natural meadows for pastoral and agricultural purposes. This area is of great interest for both the avifauna and the flora. You can also observe: Eurasian curlews, black-tailed godwits, spotted warblers, skylarks, winter wheatears and corncrakes… <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

It is home to colonies of herons: black-crowned night herons, little egret and cattle egrets, which are sometimes sensitive to disturbance during the breeding season. The existence of the island on the river is also an asset for the maintenance of fish diversity. You can meet a few families of beavers there! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
