Depart from Bâgé-la-Ville town hall. After crossing the D28, you will pass the Château de la Griffonière. Continuing on, you can see the château de Montépin. A short distance from this castle is the Montépin wash-house and drinking trough.
The original building was covered in hooked slate, which means it can be dated to the 19th century. Thanks to corporate sponsorship, numerous donors, local councils, the Communauté de Communes Bresse et Saône, craftsmen and volunteers, the restoration work was carried out between 2020 and 2023. Students in the carpentry section of the vocational baccalaureate at the Lycée Carriat in Bourg prepared the door and the boards for the cladding, and installed them on site.
