Founded in 1866 around a gallery of illustrious men from Pont-de-Vaux, the Chintreuil Museum is housed in a beautiful private mansion from the late seventeenth century. It has a fine art collection with the intimate and luminous landscapes of Antoine Chintreuil which heralds Impressionism, a room dedicated to calligraphy and the works of Jacques Le Roux. Finally, a cabinet of curiosities where the animal and mineral worlds, objects brought back from distant lands and exotic birds rub shoulders. The museum sets up temporary exhibitions each season, guided tours, manual activities for young and old, game booklets for children (readers and non-readers) and an escape game for teenagers!
